Diabetes, what do you have to say to me?
I hope you are having a good week and maybe enjoying some of these last few nice days of Fall! I enjoyed a splendid four mile walk yesterday while taking in the warm 60 degree weather and sunny blue sky. I was content. I plan to do the same today and the weather is cooperating yet another day. Joy!
Just for you diabetes…
Diabetes, what do you have to say to me?
If you could talk
Would you be open with me?
Could I trust you to share what’s really on your heart?
Do I make you mad sometimes?
Do I ever hurt your feelings?
Surely you’ve got to be proud of me once in a while…
I do an awful lot to keep you quiet and calm
And sleeping like a baby throughout the night
I’ve almost entirely cut out the evening dessert sessions of ice cream with my husband
I walk every day too
I try to practice yoga every week
Even restorative, just for you!
If you could see all I do to make you happy
Would you get along with me for just one day?
We’ve got a lot more years together baby,
And I’d like to keep it this way.
